This year Microsoft decided to “spice” up their annual Dream Build Play competition. Developers could create a game for the regular contest and compete for a top prize of $ 40k or enter the “Old Spice” sponsored contest, in which they must create a game that promotes Old Spice’s new line and deodorants, and vie for a top prize of $60k. Canned Games from Jacksonville, NB opted for the Old Spice challenge and released “Old Spice: The Fresh Card Game”. The Old Spice branded game is a mix between Uno and Go-Stop while still manages to be unique and quite enjoyable. The contest winner will be decided by voting done via the Xbox dashboard till April 26th. The game is currently available in the indie section of the Game Marketplace for 240MS points.
I purchased and played “Old Spice: The Fresh Card Game” for more than an hour yesterday and the game is indeed quite fun. I encourage everyone to download a trial version (if the price of 240MS point is too rich for your blood) and give this game a go. You will find the game very simple to learn, but does offer plenty of strategy. Do the same for all Old Spice finalists and then go and vote for your favourite.
