On November 4th Kinect was released. The new add-on brought the promise of hands-free controls to the Xbox 360 console. On that first day, I spent close to 3 hours enjoying Kinect Sports and Kinect Adventures. The next morning I wanted to enjoy more Kinect fun, but my body refused to cooperate. The reality was that I was extremely sore from my previous day of gaming. It turns out that Kinect provides quite the workout. This got me thinking that maybe Kinect could help me shed a few of my extra pounds and improve my overall physical health. It is now to put my hypothesis to the test. Today begins my fist day in my new “52 Weeks of Kinect Gaming Challenge”. Read on for more information.

For a while now, the tubes were abuzz about a possible Assassin's Creed 2.5 title. This game would not continue the adventures of Desmond Miles, but those of Ezio Auditore da Firenze (go ahead and say that 5 times fast). Once again the tubes were correct as Ubisoft confirmed that a leaked game cover from Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is indeed the real deal. Little is known about the game other than it will launch for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC this fall. Ubisoft did promise more information about Assassin's Creed Brotherhood next week. Come to think of it, Sam has no real home or affiliation anymore. He should seriously join up with the fellows of Bad Company for Battlefield Bad Company 3. Read on for more information.

Years before gamers first heeded the call of duty, they fought for honor (and possibly a medal). It is hard to believe that it has been over decade since the Steven Spielberg penned game first appeared on the PlayStation console and headshot the gaming world into submission. Since then, a series of bad console ports turned the name "Medal of Honor" into a dirty word to gamers. That may soon change as EA is relaunching the franchise this October with fresh "modern" gameplay and action enough to reclaim its crown as top first person war game. Medal Of Honor will drop on store shelves October 12 for the PC, the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles. Read on for more information.

This week the new game available on Xbox Live Arcade was first released just over 20 years ago. Tecmo Bowl Throwback is the HD remake of the classic NES title Tecmo Bowl. For those not old enough to have ever played Tecmo Bowl, the game was the definitive 8-bit football experience. The game is famous for delivering a full football experience, even considering the fact it featured only 4 plays. The game in all its HD glory, but lack of an NFL license, can be had for only 800MS points. For all PS3 gamers, the title will also be appearing on the PSN as well. Read on for more information.

Have you ever wanted to play a game where you’re a tough as nails buckaroo like Clint Eastwood set in the American Old West? Then you are in luck for Rockstar is about to grant you your wish with Red Dead Redemption.

Red Dead Redemption is not the first game set in the Wild West, but it may be the first game to get it just right. Unlike most other western games, this one allows the player to create his/her own legacy by roaming about in a huge open world, free from the requirement to follow a linear path. The Asylum was able to get some hands-on time with the game at PAX East. What did we think of the game? Read on for more information.

Crackdown 2 was by far the title I most wanted to play at PAX East and I made good on my desires by playing it on several occasions. Crackdown 2 took half of Microsoft’s booth with 16 consoles setup to play two game modes; Rocket Tag and Team Deathmatch. The controls for the game are virtually identical to those of Crackdown with a few cool new moves such as the ability to glide a bit. Team Deathmatch was fun, but the map selected was designed for 16 players with only 8 present causing a lot of searching for an opponent to take down. Also without the ability to chat with teammates (for the demo, but the real game will allow chatting), it was impossible to create a co-ordinated attack an effective attack. Monday Night Combat is a new XBLA game created by a small team of just over a dozen devs at Uber Entertainment. The presentation is reminiscent of a game show and features plenty of fast paced action. Monday Night Combat allows players to play 6 different character classes, each with plenty of upgrade opportunities. Upgrades must be purchased with money earned from defeating enemies or coins dropped on the playing field. There is even some tower defense elements mixed in for good measure. Money can be used to purchase additional defenses for the base instead of player upgrades. Modern Warfare 2 often sits atop Major Nelson's "Xbox 360 Top LIVE Titles" list. This trend will surely continue with the release of the "Stimulus Package" game add-on. The DLC will bring 5 new multiplayer maps to the popular game. Fallout 3 is a great and long game, but for many the game was not long enough. To that end, Bethesda released a series of add-ons that extends the game well beyond its normal 80+ gaming hours into an entirely new level of post apocalyptical fun. The game was designed by Rare and was a critical success accumulating the second highest aggregated score for that platform, second only to “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time”. The game returns this week on the Xbox Live Arcade platform with enhanced graphics and smoother frame rate, but retains the same gameplay that made this game so famous to begin with. The game is launched as part of the Block Party promotion and will go on sale for 800MS points. Read on for more information.

There are plenty of fine racing games available for the Xbox 360, but Formula One fans have been left in the dark. Part of this reason was that Sony had a lock on Formula One games. That lock has been passed on to Codemasters and the developer is about to end that drought and bring the high speed racing series to the Xbox 360 for the first time, along with the PS3 and PC platform. The game will feature all the F1 teams, circuits and cars of the 2010 season. The game is scheduled for a September release. Read on for more information.

What do you get when you combine the gameplay elements of Mario Kart Racing and the extreme feeling of speed and fine visuals of Need for Speed? I heck of a lot of fun that is what. Blur is the newest game from Bizarre Creations (the creators of the popular PGR franchise). The game is not due for another few months, but Bizarre has been holding a private beta of the multiplayer aspect of which I was fortunate enough to gain access to. How does the game stack up so far you ask? I am glad you asked. Read on for more information.

There was a lot of debate recently if EA would drop the Tiger Woods moniker from its Tiger Woods PGA Tour series of games. What with Tiger's compulsive need for stroke play. Fear not, just as Elin found out, there is plenty of Tiger Woods for everyone. Tiger will be returning to the tile, mind you in a diminished form. Since the game will features less Tiger, the devs have opted to actually improve the game by including the Ryder Cup and team play to the series. The game will also make use of the WiiMotion Plus controller and the yet unnamed (but codenamed Gem) PS3 motion controller. No word on any Project Natal support. Read on for more information.

Tired of playing guitar games that features plastic instruments with buttons. Then "Power Gig: Rise of the SixString" is the game for you. What makes the game different from Guitar Hero or Rock Band is the fact that the game controller is a fully functional six-string electric guitar. The developers at Seven45 Studios (sister company of musical instrument maker First Act) promise the game will be as easy to learn and play as all other musical games, but that you can drop the game, plug the guitar into an amp and jam away. Final Fantasy XIII was released today in North America. The months leading up to the release was focused on which version of the game would look better. This is after all Sony's chance to outshine the Xbox 360 and prove that Blu-Ray is indeed essential to gaming. Not trusting the opinion of any site that generates advertising $$$, I set out to find out for myself if any particular version displayed a significant advantage over another. Please note that I do not have any fancy screen capture utility, just my camera. All images where taken under identical conditions.

PS/ To make things fair, I will never disclose which screenshots are from which version of the game. Read on for more information.
